From Our Pastors

Advent

Posted by Kevin Blalock on

The Christmas season is quickly approaching. For Christians this brings excitement, as we look toward celebrating the incarnation. Christmas is when the eternal Son of God, the promised Messiah, the Word, became flesh. The sinless Son of God entered into a sinful world to live a perfect life, die the death that all humanity deserves to die for sin, and rise from the dead, defeating death and Satan forever. The promised one (Genesis 3) that would crush the head of the serpent entered the world through a virgin in a manger.

Long part of the Christian calendar is the season of Advent; a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the incarnation of Christ.

As John Piper says, “Advent is for adoring Jesus”.

Below are a few resources for you and your families as we look toward December, Advent, and Christmas. These are devotionals that will help guide you as you look toward Christmas, where we celebrate God becoming man.
