What is Kevin Reading and Listening to?
This week we asked Pastor Kevin what books he has been reading and what podcasts he was been listening to. We will be asking each of our pastors these questions over the next few weeks and hope they may give you a few ideas of things to learn from.
What are you reading right now?
Ordinary by Tony Merida: This is a great book arguing that if Christians simply practice ordinary Christianity, rather than looking for the radical, they can have a huge impact in the world. The world can be changed by Christians simply doing ordinary things with a "gospel intentionality." Having meals with people and talking about Jesus, acts of service for your neighbors, and many things like these can be used to impact people with the gospel.
Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin: This is a biography about Abraham Lincoln, his rise to the Presidency, and the team he built around himself to lead the nation during a tumultuous time. It is a great study on team building and excellent leadership.
What podcasts are you listening to?
EntreLeadership: This is a podcast from Dave Ramsey and his team that deals with basic leadership principles, personal growth, team building, etc.

Look at the Book: John Piper produces this series which puts a text of Scripture on the screen you are watching, and then you listen and watch him break down the passage. It is fantastic for helping you learn how to read the Bible and key things to look for in any text you are studying.
